Toddler Group
The Castleconnell Toddler Group meets in the ACM Castleconnell Community Centre
on Thursdays from 9:30 – 12:00am

This is the place for anyone who looks after a Baby or Toddler between 0 and 5 and who wants a friendly chat over real coffee while the tots play.
This is not a business or a charity, just informal fun!

Who we are
|
|
Right now we are a bunch of mums, a few grandma’s and two French Au Pairs. We all live locally and have kids between 0 and 5. Some of us are first-time-mum’s, some are seasoned 3 kids gurus, while some are expecting new babies this year which everyone is really excited about. Some of us have had careers and some still work part-time while others are thinking about going back to work or just enjoying being homemakers. We are as diverse as we are united and are always looking for new friends to join us, men and women. |
How we run the Toddler Group

We all run the Toddler Group together, taking turns in opening up in the morning, putting on the brew and picking up the scones & biscuits. We all pay €2 to cover the nibbles and a small rental for the space and we all play the cleanup game before we leave.

What we do
|
|
Mostly we are just full of chatter, there is so much to talk about when you have kids and the Toddler Group is the best place to share both your joy and frustration and get new perspectives on things. There are lots of toys and books for the tots and we also play all the usual ‘ring-o-roses’ games, ‘hide & seek’ and anything that grabs small minds with big imagination.

Out and about
|
For a change of scenery we sometimes do trips to Tons of Fun, Jumping Gym, Petting Farms, local playgrounds or whatever else takes our fancy. When the weather is good we sometimes do local walks along the river to feed the ducks, go to the playground and have coffee or picnic in the grounds of Castle Oaks Hotel. |

We also organise Christmas and Easter parties and take part in the St Patrick's Day Parade. Once a year we do a charity thing e.g. The Big Toddel for Barnardos. Last year we also put on a Halloween Party and Trick-or-Treat evening and had a lot of fun dressing up and going out in the dark.

Tot free zone
It’s not all about tots; we often enjoy an evening out in the local pubs, a nice restaurant meal or a good night at the movies. Our 2008 Christmas Party was a well deserved night in the Hamptons all dressed up and feeling fab!
Where friendships grow
